The PBTech consortium of 11 IT companies based in the state of Paraiba, in Brazil (the world's seventh largest information technology market).

PBTech was created in December 2002 with the support of Apex Brasil (Trade and Investiment Promotion Agency), Sebrae (Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service) and Fundação Parque Tecnológico (Technological Park Foundation).

Paraiba, the state where the consortium was created , includes the most easterly point in the Americas (Ponta do Seixas) and is considered one of the most promising technology markets in Brazil. The Paraiba technological pole has the majority of its companies located in Campina Grande, which is 130Km from the state capital, João Pessoa. Campina Grande is a national reference in the information technology sector and is reknowned as a centre of diffusion for technological and scientific knowledge.
